How to select
Settle the build first — concertina, closed into a helix and hung as a ring above the fence, or flat-wrap, stretched along the top of the line. Then the blade strip material, galvanised or stainless steel, and what the coil is fixed to: a welded mesh panel, a Y-post head, a wall or a gate leaf. Because no figures are published for the blade, the coil or the core wire, the blade dimensions, the coil diameter, the core wire diameter and the fixing brackets are all confirmed per order against the run length.
Razor wire is a flat steel tape with edges formed along it and closed onto a high-tensile core wire, so the core takes the tension and every metre of the wire carries a cutting edge. It is supplied in coils in two builds — concertina, hung as a ring above the fence, or flat-wrap, stretched along the top of the line — and it is normally specified as a topping on a perimeter that is already fenced rather than as a fence in its own right.
Photographs below show the product family; the specification on this page is the manufacturer's published figure and is quoted unchanged.
01 · Product overview
What razor wire is and how it is built
The published position for this product is short: two builds, concertina and flat-wrap, a blade strip in galvanised or stainless steel on a high-tensile core wire, supplied in coils with barbed wire as the lighter alternative — while blade dimensions, coil diameter, core wire diameter and the fixing brackets are confirmed per order.
Razor wire is a flat steel tape with edges formed along it, closed onto a high-tensile core wire. The core takes the tension, so the blade strip is not asked to carry the load, and because the cutting edges run the whole length of the tape rather than sitting at intervals, every metre of the wire presents an edge. That is what separates it from barbed wire, where short barbs are twisted on at a spacing.
Two builds are supplied. In concertina the wire is closed into a helix and compressed into a coil, which is hung in a ring above the fence so that it opens out if it is disturbed. In flat-wrap the coil is stretched and laid along the top of the line, wall or gate, so it covers a continuous run rather than a series of rings. Both arrive in coils and are cut and fixed on site by the installer to suit the line being protected; the same coil is used as a topping on a welded mesh panel or a chain-link fence as well as on a wall or a gate.
The blade strip is galvanised or stainless steel. Galvanised is the usual answer for a general perimeter; stainless steel is chosen where the site stands in coastal air or an aggressive industrial atmosphere and the owner would rather not maintain a coated strip. Barbed wire is offered as the lighter alternative where the requirement is lower, or where razor wire is not acceptable on appearance or safety grounds — around a school, for example, or on a boundary in public view.
The normal duty is as a topping rather than as a fence in its own right: above a welded mesh panel, in the angled head of an anti-climb Y-post fence, along the top of a masonry wall, or on a gate leaf. No figures are published for the blade, the coil or the core wire, so blade dimensions, coil diameter, core wire diameter and the fixing brackets are confirmed per order — tell us what the coil goes on, the run length and the destination port.

04 · Made to your drawing
Made to the project specification
Send us the drawing or the standard you follow and we confirm in writing what we can supply against it. For razor wire, that means the build, the blade strip material, the core wire, the coil diameter, the blade dimensions and the brackets, together with the fence, wall or gate the coil is fixed to and the run length in metres.
What settles this specification
The build, the blade strip material, the coil diameter, the blade dimensions and the brackets. The manufacturer publishes no figures for this product, so every one of them is confirmed per order against the line the coil is going onto.

06 · Questions buyers ask
Razor Wire — frequent questions
Every answer below repeats a figure or a term already published on this page; nothing is added to the specification here.
How is the razor wire fixed down?
As a topping: above a welded mesh panel, in the angled head of a Y-post fence, above a masonry wall, or above or on a gate leaf. The fixing brackets are confirmed per order and are chosen for the fence, wall or gate the coil is fixed to — tell us what the coil goes on and the run length.
Which parts are made to the drawing?
The manufacturer's site prints no figures for this product, so the blade dimensions, the coil diameter, the core wire diameter and the fixing brackets are all confirmed per order. The listed terms are quoted unchanged: concertina or flat-wrap, a galvanised or stainless steel blade strip and a high-tensile core wire.
What is the price, MOQ and lead time position?
Price: quoted per order — FOB Wuhan / Shanghai, CIF or DDP. MOQ, loading plan and lead time are confirmed per specification: send the drawing, quantity and destination port and we reply with MOQ, loading plan and lead time within one business day.
How are the coils packed, and what documents come with the order?
Coils are compressed, strapped and packed for container loading; the exact packing method is confirmed per specification with the loading plan. Documents are the proforma invoice, commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin as required. Buyers who need CE / EN / ASTM documentation tell us the standard, and it is confirmed in writing what can be supplied.
Is any certification claimed for this product?
None claimed. No certification is claimed for this product; the standard the project follows governs acceptance. Barbed wire is offered as the alternative where the requirement is lighter or razor wire is not acceptable on appearance or safety grounds, and it is supplied in coils as well.
